Direction, under review
The counsel lane is in design with domain counsel. Nothing on this page is available today, no date is promised, and nothing here is a product claim. This page exists so that the direction is public and the right reviewers can find the door.
The duties come first
Legal practice carries obligations other industries do not: confidentiality with rules behind it, conflicts that disqualify rather than inconvenience, and trust accounting regulated to the cent. The design principle is that these duties are encoded in the workflow itself — not documented beside it, and not left as settings a firm must remember to configure.
Design commitments under review
- Conflicts at intake. New-matter intake is being designed to screen parties against the matter record before engagement, so conflicts surface at the door rather than in discovery.
- One controlled door per matter. Matter documents are being designed to live in access-controlled vaults with every view and share logged — access granted by role, never by forwarding.
- Three-way trust reconciliation. The bank statement, main trust ledger, and client sub-ledgers are being designed to reconcile as one automated check on a cadence, with exceptions flagging immediately.
- Retainer state as workflow. Retainer status, replenishment, and required filings are being designed to track as workflow state rather than inbox contents.
How the review works
Workflow rules are drawn with counsel input before any rollout. The lane ships when the workflows survive that review — and public pages will say so when they do. Firms that want to shape the review can request access through the standard route. The essay design before availability explains why this lane is presented as direction at all.
Boundary
This page presents intent only. It makes no claim of availability, certification against any bar or jurisdiction's rules, or fitness for a specific practice. Platform trust and security posture for the live verticals is documented separately on the Trust surface.
